When we think of eternity, we often speak of forever—
Until the end of our days,
And an unbreakable bond until our final breath.
But when I speak of eternity,
Sometimes I mean two months.
Sometimes I mean years.
Sometimes, I just mean today.
Eternity is the time that is meant for us—
Whether it’s until tomorrow, next week, next month,
Or the very end of our lives.
It’s the time in which eternity shapes itself around people,
Finding a new meaning in each moment it touches.
So if I say we are friends for eternity,
And three months later we no longer speak,
Don’t look at me and ask what became of forever.
That was our eternity.

For some, eternity lasts longer than for others,
