That Summer-the Summer of lies.
I remember you said......
there'd never be any goodbyes.
Your empty promise----they all fell----each one of our beautiful skies.
Ego cut off all ties.
You couldn't face what the heart tries.
Wasn't it you who said "Love never buys" And "Only love makes us wise"
Where are you now......were you able to rise?
To soar those elusive highs?
Time has taught me, our moment, though short, was a prize.
Memory will do that, get soft words in edgewise.
Remove what hurt implies.
Give more value and gravitas to it all, than we ever, back then, surmised.
